Lifestyle Choices

Whatever your problem, your body has responded perfectly to the stimuli it is receiving.  Your body adapts to your lifestyle choices, whether good or bad.  You don't just get sick.  First your lifestyle weakens you and then you become susceptible to injury and illness.  The good news is that, given a chance, your body can heal.

Our bodies manifest our choices.  Especially what we think, eat, drink, breathe and how we exercise, relax and rest.  Every response our bodies make is to survive the conditions we create.

What You Think

"Try to realize that the real problem is not what is happening, but how you are reacting to it."  -- Mata Amritanandamayi, world renowned saint

Our conscious and subconscious thoughts affect our bodies and often contribute to the source of our pain and illness.  Positive thoughts enhance our health, negative thoughts hinder our health because the patterns negative thoughts create can disrupt communication within our bodies.  This awareness can motivate us to make changes in our thinking.

Most negative thinking comes from not seeing every situation that comes into our lives as an opportunity for growth.   Things don't happen to us, they happen for us, so we can learn a lesson,  Of course, it's not always easy to see this when we're in the middle of difficult situations.

Life has it's ups and downs.  If we can remain somewhat positive and grateful while going through hardship, then the harmful subconscious memory patterns will not develop.  We'll enjoy the vitality and wellness that we were created to enjoy.

One of the most important things we can do in life is to still and calm the mind.  There are many ways to do this.  Find something you enjoy:  meditation, listening to soothing music, prayer, reading inspiring/spiritual books, yoga, being in nature, exercise, being with positive people, playing with children.  It helps to remember to be grateful for all that we have.
